Come to the Whitney for a special edition of Member Night—a Disco Party celebrating the winter season and looking ahead to 2020! Enjoy after-hours access to all exhibitions, artmaking, mini tours, cash bars, and more. 

Festive attire and disco-themed looks are encouraged.


Sound, Line, and Gesture: A Synesthetic Happening
Floor 3, Susan and John Family Hess Theater

This synesthetic drawing workshop, led by artist Jaqueline Cedar, explores connections between sound, rhythm, line, and movement. Jason Moran and Nick Mauss's collaborative and theatrical approach to drawing will serve as inspiration.

Seminar Discussion: The Distance of the Everyday

After briefly tracing the history of the "readymade" in art, this seminar with teaching fellow Ayanna Dozier will explore works from Making Knowing: Craft in Art, 1950–2019 and other current exhibitions to ask: How are today’s artists continuing to challenge the institutions of art by using "everyday" creative practices and found “non-art” objects?


Winter Disco: Vinyl Set by DJ Soul Nice
7:30–9:30 pm

Soul Nice (aka Daniel Alexander) brings a versatile blend of new jams and classics to audiences across the boroughs and around the world. A resident DJ at Soho House and Gertie, Soul Nice is also a featured member of the Future Old School crew at Friends and Lovers. His gift for integrating many genres seamlessly into each set has delighted audiences in London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and beyond.

All members are invited to this event. The invitation is for two individuals per membership household. Members at the Dual level and above are welcome to arrive at 7 pm for early admission. One-time-use member guest passes may be used. Not open to corporate and reciprocal members.
