Floor Five, Neil Bluhm Family Galleries

Renowned poets Chris Funkhouser and Fred Moten jointly speak on Cecil Taylor’s relationship to poetry and the written word. Funkhouser, Professor and Director of Communication & Media at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, famously interviewed Taylor for Hambone ("Being Matter Ignited") in 1994. Moten, an acclaimed theorist of black aesthetics, was a finalist for the National Book Award for Poetry for The Feel Trio (Letter Machine Editions, 2014), named after and inspired by one of Taylor’s late groups.

Free with Museum admission.
