Floor Five, Neil Bluhm Family Galleries

Brooklyn-based painter and muralist Archie Rand hosts a listening session as part of Open Plan: Cecil Taylor. Rand is Presidential Professor of Art at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. His work combines diverse influences such as jazz, European modernism, comics, and Hebrew texts. A friend of Taylor’s since the age of fifteen, Rand credits him with transforming his career by imparting the virtues of improvisation and textual interplay.
