The exhibition Jeff Koons: A Retrospective presents the most comprehensive chronological survey to date of Jeff Koons’s career, creating the opportunity to appreciate his diverse and complicated work as a multifaceted whole. This lecture and gallery talk with Whitney teaching fellow Paula Burleigh focuses on the beginnings of Koons’s career and situates his work within the cultural and art-historical context of the 1980s.
