Meet at the Community Day Open House tent, Washington and Gansevoort Streets

All ages

The site of the Whitney’s new building is beautifully situated near the Hudson River amidst the lively Meatpacking District, and this area in New York’s past has always been bustling—and hustling—with a range of industries. Artist Lize Mogel takes us on an interactive walking tour exploring the transformation of the area, the overlapping ecosystems, and the hidden histories of the streets. Adventuresome trekkers and spectators alike can pick up an artist-designed map made especially for the Whitney’s groundbreaking.
