Susan and John Hess Family Theater and Online, via Zoom

In her vibrant, large-scale paintings, Ilana Savdie explores performance, transgression, and identity. For this conversation, Savdie invites writer Carmen Maria Machado, author of Her Body and Other Parties (Graywolf Press, 2017) and In the Dream House (Graywolf Press, 2019), to discuss their respective practices and overlapping interests, from power dynamics mediated through the body to explorations of queer intimacy and desire. The conversation is moderated by Marcela Guerrero, DeMartini Family Curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Simultaneous interpretation in Spanish provided by Babilla Collective.
