Get ready for a night of art, music, costumes, and spooky fun at Halloween Teen Night at the Whitney, hosted by our Youth Insights Leaders.
This year, step into the bold, comic-inspired world of Roy Lichtenstein, where dramatic imagery, playful perspectives, and the visual language of comics transform everyday spaces into something unexpected. Explore the galleries and see how Lichtenstein used bold lines, graphic forms, and comic-book conventions to create art that feels larger than life.
Then, get creative yourself! In collaboration with Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, teens will experiment with printmaking and create their own artworks inspired by Lichtenstein’s graphic style, comics, and playful approaches to perspectives. Bring your ideas to life through bold imaginary, dramatic viewpoints, and your own unique visual language.
Plus enjoy teen-led tours, music, dancing, snacks, and more throughout the museum.
This event is free for teens, with refreshments and art materials will be provided.
A note about costumes: Halloween at the Whitney is an inclusive and safe celebration for all. In that spirit, we do not allow costumes that perpetuate cultural appropriation, discrimination, or violence of any kind, including fake weapons. We invite you to be inspired by works in the Whitney’s collection and check out the #IAmNotACostume campaign to learn more about choosing a respectful costume.
