Contemporaries Patrons members

Contemporaries Patrons are invited to Hauser & Wirth gallery for an exclusive walk-through of Rashid Johnson's exhibition Fly Away, led by the artist. The exhibition features new paintings and sculptures, as well as a monumental installation that borrows it's title from the 1929 hymn "I'll Fly Away," which explores themes of history, yearning, and escape. A reception in the Roth Bar will immediately follow the tour.

Rashid Johnson (b. 1977) is a New York-based artist whose work is represented in the Whitney's permanent collection. Johnson's Thurgood in the Hour of Chaos (2009) was included in the Whitney’s inaugural exhibition America Is Hard to See.

Space is limited and open to Contemporaries Patron members. Become a member, or upgrade your membership by calling (212) 570-3641.
