Join the Whitney Museum and AILEY for free pop-up dance classes celebrating Edges of Ailey! Led by Ailey Extension instructors, these dynamic, fun-filled classes will take place in the Museum lobby during select Free Friday Nights. Each class explores a different dance genre—come groove with us and stay awhile to enjoy DJ sets, artmaking, and more! Upcoming classes include:

Ailey teaching artist Jeffrey Bynum leads a disco-themed jazz class celebrating Alvin Ailey’s history with Studio 54 and his love for club culture, as seen in the Ailey masterpiece Night Creature. All ages and skill levels are welcome, and participants are encouraged to show up in their best disco-inspired attire!
