Founding Members

The Whitney’s downtown Manhattan neighborhood has been the site of exciting cultural developments and home to a diverse community of artists since the beginning of the twentieth century. In the years leading up to the opening of the Museum’s new home, an array of initiatives—from site-specific art commissions to partnerships with neighborhood community and arts organizations—reaffirmed the Whitney’s downtown ties and laid the foundation for future contributions to the life of New York City. On the occasion of the Whitney’s anniversary, these tours offer Founding Members an opportunity to explore the rich history of the neighborhood.

Open to all Founding members. Space is limited and advance registration is required. For more information or to become a Founding member, email memberinfo@whitney.org or call (212) 570-3641.
