Floor Three, Susan and John Hess Family Theater

Join us in the third-floor theater for a drop-in drawing workshop led by artist and educator Mark Joshua Epstein. Participants will have the opportunity to draw an exuberant three-dimensional large-scale cardboard still-life inspired by the work of Stuart Davis. Explore ideas of proportion, positive and negative space, and foreground and background. Draw for a few minutes—or longer!

Mark Joshua Epstein (b.1979) is a visual artist based in New York. Recent exhibitions include solo presentations at Biquini Wax in Mexico City and Brian Morris Gallery, New York, and a recent two-person project with Will Hutnick at Demo Projects in Springfield, Illinois. Epstein has participated in numerous residency programs including the Millay Colony, the Macdowell Colony and the Saltonstall Foundation.

This workshop is free with Museum admission. Participants of all levels of experience are welcome. Drawing materials and jazz will be provided. Cash bar.
