Floor 5
Open to Contemporaries and Contemporaries Patron members
Contemporaries members are invited to experience a special “behind the scenes” tour of Sixties Surreal with Kelly Long, Contemporaries curatorial liaison and an organizer of the exhibition.
Sixties Surreal spotlights the story of American art of the 1960s, highlighting a generation of artists who responded to a world in flux. Featuring over 100 artists including Andy Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Faith Ringgold, Ed Ruscha, and Jack Whitten, this bold exhibition showcases a movement rooted in social change, Surrealist influence, and a revolutionary spirit. In addition to insights about the artworks on view, learn about more than a decade of research that went into the exhibition and the unique challenges of installing it.
