As part of Whitney Biennial 2024: Even Better Than the Real Thing, this film program organized by guest curator Korakrit Arunanondchai presents films by a group of artists and filmmakers born in Asia for whom storytelling, dreams, animistic beliefs, and metaphors serve as tools to explore their conflicting desires towards the Western idea of modernization.

This film program features films by Ho Tzu Nyen, Yasmine Anlan Huang, Shuang Li, Simon Liu, Raqs Media Collective, and Riar Rizaldi. The screening will be followed by a conversation between Korakrit Arunanondchai, Yasmine Anlan Huang, Ho Tzu Nyen, Simon Liu, and Riar Rizaldi. Conversation guests are subject to change.
