Vogue Basics is perfect for students looking to begin their vogue journey and get down to the basics. The instructor will break down the elements of vogue to allow students to perfect their technique at a slow and easy-to-follow pace.

This is an expressive, full-body movement class that will challenge your agility, strength, and spatial awareness while allowing you to tap into your fiercest self. As a significant element of Ballroom culture, voguing is as much about competition and besting a rival as it is about self-expression, identity formation, and building chosen families.

Instructor
Luz Theodyssey is a Dominican American artist from the Bronx. She began her formal training at the age of twelve in ballet, modern, jazz, and tap at the Bronx Dance Academy, with continued training at the Dance Theatre of Harlem from 2009–2012 before studying at SUNY Purchase College. In 2018, she debuted at her first ball and has continued to dance and compete in a variety of categories ever since. Theodyssey has starred in campaigns for Be True Nike, Adidas, and Jeremy Scott, and appeared on seasons 1 and 2 of Ryan Murphy’s Pose. You can catch her most recent television work on the 2022 season of Legendary, the HBO Max hit voguing show, where she placed as the semi-finalist house in the final two competing teams.
