Ashley

Ashley is from Nicaragua and lives in the Bronx. For Ashley, art is a voice that she has to figure out what the voice wants to say with it. She wants to push her limits to become someone in people’s life. Ashley wants to learn how to be happy in not so good times and influence others.

Ceren

Ceren is Turkish American. For Ceren, art is a physical manifestation of human ideas, emotions, and experiences. In addition, there is no right or wrong, perspectives which allow for interpretation. Ceren hopes to work in a field that allows her to spark social/political change, push boundaries surrounding cultural values, and become even more zealous.

Cara

Cara is from Fresh Meadows, Queens. To Cara, art is a form of expression that allows individuals to communicate their ideas to the rest of the world. Art invokes emotion, discussion, and action. Through art, there are endless possibilities as to what someone can achieve.

Rabeya

Rabeya is from Bangladesh, and now lives in the Bronx. To Rabeya, art means the expression of our thoughts. She would like to accomplish leadership experiences and gain more communication skills.

Laura

Laura is from Colombia, lives in Queens, and attends Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School. For Laura, art is a therapy method for us all to express ourselves; it is some sort of a mirror where you are able to see someone else's true colors. Laura hopes to bring positive changes to people's lives, inspire people to regain their voices, and be a voice of change.

Marwa

Marwa was born in Chicago and raised in The Bronx, New York. Throughout her childhood, she and her siblings were constantly encouraged to create, whether it be through sketching, painting, writing, etc. As she entered her teenaged years, she began painting more than ever, and grew increasingly fond of it. To Marwa, painting became a creative outlet, which in turn became a method of self-expression. In the future, she hopes to be completely secure in herself and find a passion that she'll work for tirelessly.
