Two Palms Press
Jul 9, 2009
Two Palms Press is a studio of talented workers that collaborate with young or great artists. They provide materials that the original artists might not have access to to be able to accomplish a piece of art. They provide materials like laser machines, different sheets of metals, different sheets of glass and paper, as well as different art painting materials, and press machines that could put pressure on art pieces- did I mention TONS of pressure!!! They don’t just provide their space and various materials to an artist but they develop great collaboration and relationships with these artists. They share ideas with each other for the better of the art piece.
Later on in the day our group gathered in Washington Square Park to talk and share our ideas about what we had just seen and heard in Two Palms Press. As our discussion went on two sides of ideas developed about what was going on in Two Palms Press. One side was able to say that the work in the studio was a bit problematic because making multiples of the same creation could take away the originality of an artist. The other side was able to say that the collaboration going on in the studio was great because it helped the artist develop better works of art and helped Two Palms Press gain more acknowledgement by other great artists. Still by the end of the day we had learned a lot from this behind the scenes experience. It was AWESOME. =D. (wow I didn’t write as much as Kitty did =P) -Cesar M.
