Resume writing is a foundation and a catalyst to success in our professional lives. A resume reduces the need to ramble about the past and concisely documents achievements and experiences. It speaks for us.
On July 1, we took an introductory class on the art of resume writing. We met with the Whitney's Human Resources Manager who oversees the intake of resumes and the hiring of staff/ interns. She also interviews all prospective employees. We collectively brainstormed what we felt our resumes should look like, reviewed mock resumes, and laid out any concerns or questions we had, which were graciously and masterfully answered. A taste of what’s in store for the coming weeks, this session was a great first step in creating resumes we can proudly present to future employers.
