Today we were able to experience something that not many people ever get the chance to. We learned about art conservation at the Whitney! We even visited the conservation lab! Heather Cox, who works in the Conservation Department and is an artist in her own right, came in to talk with us about what art conservation is, why it is important, and how it has changed over the years. We learned about what the rules and processes are, and how conservation is constantly advancing as new technologies are introduced.

Heather brought us into the lab and showed us different pieces that are being worked on, including paintings by Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollock. Seeing this room was a very unique experience that we were lucky enough to participate in.
