A few weeks ago, a group of teens from El Puente Academy in Brooklyn came to the Museum for a YI Leader tour. It was by far one of the best tours I have given since I have been at the Whitney. The audience was responsive and full of energy along with very wild imaginations, and that combination made for a great tour. Usually, a lot of planning is necessary to make sure that we get the audience's attention, keep that attention, and get them into the conversation. With El Puente, it was effortless and I learned new things from them seeing the work through their lenses. I feel that this was a learning experience. And from now on we will model all our tours in such a way that it makes everyone feel comfortable.

I am so sad that the year is winding down! This is my last blog post for the year. I will be leaving for a summer abroad in Japan. But don't miss me too much. I will be back in the fall. Until then, remember:
