On July 14, Youth Insights participants met with Adam Weinberg, Alice Pratt Brown Director of the Whitney Museum. Weinberg spoke to us about his role at the Whitney and his path to becoming the director of the Museum. First, Weinberg talked candidly about his teenage years. He admitted that he was not the best student when it came to science and math, but found his true passion in photography. Weinberg told us that the moment he realized he wanted to work in the art world was when he was an intern at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York and had the chance to watch curators discuss artwork as it was being installed.

Weinberg also spoke about his experience working at art institutions in Ohio, Massachusetts, and even in France. After discussing his career path, Weinberg talked about his job at the Whitney with such passion; it was clear how much he loves and cares about the Museum and everyone in it. Weinberg is an inspiring man and it was a true privilege to meet him.
