ADAM WEINBERG: I’m Adam Weinberg, Director of the Whitney Museum. I’d like to welcome you to our new building and to our opening exhibition of American Art from the Museum’s collection.  You’ll find art everywhere in the building—inside, outside…even the elevators are works of art. As you explore, you can use this guide to learn about the art on view. The main exhibition begins on the 8th floor—if you’d like to go in chronological order, start there and work your way down. Thank you for visiting, and enjoy the show!
