Whitney Biennial 2014
Audio Guide Playlist
For kids

Kids can hear directly from artists as they talk about the thoughts, processes, and ideas behind their work in the 2014 Whitney Biennial.

NARRATOR: Find Carol Jackson’s sculpture called BLEHH. Why do you think she called it that? This sculpture is made of leather, enamel, brass, and paint and looks kind of like a fancy, empty picture frame. It has a circle that looks like a mouth that it is vomiting up leather strands! Kind of gross!

There are two other sculptures by this artist, Carol Jackson, on this floor. They hang up on the wall—see if you can find them. They also contain interesting materials, like a combination of papier-maché, wood, and photographs of nature that were taken from webcams of national parks. What do you think Jackson is saying with this unusual combination of materials?
