Group Visits and Tours

Plan a guided tour for your group and enjoy discounted rates and thematic tour options.

Request a private guided tour and a member of our team will get back to you within approximately 3-5 business days. Please note we recommend three weeks advance notice for scheduling guided tours.

Guided Tour Rates:
$250 flat fee for up to 25 guests; plus the per person cost of below:

  • Adults $25
  • Seniors & University Students $20
  • Children 18 & Under $12

Guided tours can be organized for smaller groups, but the flat fee of $250 does not change.

Request Your Visit

Request a virtual tour or lecture from one of the Whitney's Teaching Fellows on a topic of your choosing.

Whitney Teaching Fellows, Ph.D. candidates in Art History, can present on a range of topics drawing on the Whitney’s collection and exhibitions or work with instructors to gear material toward specific interests. More details are available in the request form. Please submit a request at least three weeks in advance.

  • Private virtual talks are forty-five minutes long and include a thirty-minute talk and fifteen-minute Q&A session 
  • Choose from a range of topics or work with the Teaching Fellow to develop a topic for your class
  • We can provide a Zoom link or the Teaching Fellow can join your platform

$175 for 45 minute session

Free and reduced cost in-person and online sessions are available for community organizations and groups with disabilities in NYC.

A limited number of free or reduced-cost interactive in-person and online sessions are available for not-for-profit community-based organizations, senior centers, and groups of people with disabilities based in New York City. Programs are customized to meet the specific needs of each group with the goal of providing inclusive and accessible art experiences. We offer:

  • Accessible presentations on Whitney exhibitions
  • Artmaking workshops
  • Verbal description presentations
  • Sessions in American Sign Language
  • Sessions in English, Spanish, and Cantonese

We are not currently accepting requests for Community and Access Tours.

School programs at the Museum and in the classroom use works of art to create a forum for ideas, debate, and exchange. 

K–12 Online Lessons
Interactive forty-minute online lessons engage students with works of art from the Whitney's collection through close looking exercises, guided discussions, and activities. These lessons are taught by Museum educators via video conferencing.

In a seventy-minute in-person gallery tour that builds upon classroom learning, students are introduced to 3–5 works of art through discussions and activities that incorporate the artist's voice and process.

K–12 Guided Visit + Studio
Guided Visit + Studio invites students to have a seventy-minute guided tour in the galleries followed by an hour of art making in the Whitney’s Hearst Artspace. This opportunity to explore materials and experiment with processes encourages students to think like artists and be inspired by artists’ ideas.

More for teachers

Instructors can request a group visit, lecturer badge, or group tour at discounted rates.

College and university instructors can request a lecturer badge or opt to work one-on-one with one of our Teaching Fellows to develop a tour that engages with their course content.

Pricing

  • Group visit (for 10 or more students): $20 per person
  • Lecturer badge: $30; plus the per person cost of $20
  • A tour with our Teaching Fellows: $250 flat fee for up to 25 students; plus $26 per hour for specific curriculum content development; plus the per person cost of $20
