Born 1971, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; lives in New York, New York, and Amsterdam, The Netherlands

An artist, musician, and self-taught filmmaker, Martha Colburn has developed her distinctive style of exuberantly colorful animated collage over the last ten years. She began making films using found footage after she acquired a number of discarded classroom films from a library. Living in Baltimore throughout the 1990s, she released six records and collaborated with numerous musicians and artists, including Yamatsuka Eye and Jad Fair. Among her most recent projects is a music video for the band Deerhoof.
