Bathroom Portrait

Roy Lichtenstein made this painting based on a few black-and-white advertisements for bathroom fixtures, such as toilets, tubs, and sinks. Notice the copyright sign on the floor near the toilet. Lichtenstein may have included it from one of the advertisements that he was working with. Look closely at this painting and compare it to your own bathroom. What is similar? What is different? Think about what might be missing from this bathroom painting. Clue: toothpaste, soap, and toilet paper!

Bring a piece of paper and a pencil to your bathroom. Find a place to sit and draw the whole bathroom or a detail of it.
