Based in the Netherlands, they were among the first artists to investigate and subvert conventions of the internet, computer programs, and video and computer games. JODI stages digital interventions that destabilize the relationship between computer technology and its users, radically disrupting the very language of these systems. They use a wide range of mediums and techniques—including installations, software, websites, and performances—to challenge our relationship to the technologies that we depend upon every day. JODI’s work has been featured in numerous publications and exhibited worldwide at venues including Documenta X, Kassel, Germany (1997); Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Germany; InterCommunication Center Tokyo; Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow; Guggenheim Museum, New York; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Eyebeam, New York; FACT, Liverpool, United Kingdom; and the Museum of the Moving Image, Queens.\u003c/p\u003e","on_view":false,"artport":true,"biennial":false,"collection":true,"ulan_id":null,"wikidata_id":"Q2915356","popularity":0.672544080604534,"created_at":"2023-11-17T18:10:31.974-05:00","updated_at":"2026-11-03T01:47:03.236-05:00","links":{"artworks":"/api/artists/15261/artworks","exhibitions":"/api/artists/15261/exhibitions"}}}}
