ASL SLAM at the Whitney

SAT, May 5, 2018
5 pm

Floor 3, Susan and John Hess Family Gallery and Theater

The Whitney Museum of American Art is proud to present a special edition of ASL SLAM. For over a decade ASL SLAM has been inviting the signing community to get on stage and break free from the daily restraints of sign language. Through the use of images and literary prompts, poet Douglas Ridloff celebrates the vernacular tradition of American Sign Language and engages the audience, creating collaborative poetry and stories.

Registration for this event is now at capacity. There will be a standby line the day of the program.

The Susan and John Hess Family Theater is equipped with an induction loop and infrared assistive listening system. Accessible seating is available.
