General Admission tickets entitle guests to arrive at any time during that day’s operating hours and to visit all of the Museum’s galleries (there is no special exhibition surcharge). All ticket holders for public programs should please make every effort to arrive by the posted start time of the event; otherwise we cannot guarantee available seating.
Admission is pay-what-you-wish on Fridays, 6–9 pm; pay-what-you-wish tickets are available in person only and may not be purchased in advance. Tickets purchased online for Friday admission are at full price but allow the ticket holder to bypass the regular admission line.
The Whitney offers free admission for members and visitors ages 18 and under. These tickets are available at the Museum only.
Online tickets are processed by museumtix.com; they are non-transferable and non-refundable. All online ticket holders must bring valid identification and present it at the Express Admission desk in the lobby. Visitors ages 19–25, 62 and over, and full-time students must have valid identification in order to be admitted at the discounted price.
