Whitney Live Producers

The Whitney LIVE Producers is designed to bring devotees of contemporary performance into closer contact with artists and curators, and to nurture and sustain the continuation of a rich 40-year history of performing arts programs at the Whitney. Since 2005, Adjunct Curator of Performing Arts, Limor Tomer has introduced new and innovative performances while reflecting on the Whitney’s rich history.  Whitney LIVE Producers receive advanced notice of programs, preferred seating at Whitney LIVE events, and access to behind-the-scenes events with performers and special guests. During the year, members are invited to various performing arts discussions and also have the opportunity to meet the artists themselves.

Participation begins with an annual gift of $1,000.

Recent and upcoming performances include:

  • Summer evening rock concerts inspired by Dan Graham, featuring performers Titus Andronicus, Real Estate, Abe Vigoda, Grooms, Woods, YellowFever, Vivian Girls and These Are Powers.
  • Commissioned scores for suites of short films by Alice Guy Blaché, which will be presented during the exhibition as well as recorded and screened in the Museum. As part of the collaboration with the French Institute/Alliance Française the performances and screenings will be presented during the Crossing the Line festival in September 2009.
