In 1931, the Whitney was founded to champion American artists in every aspect of their work. Today, the Museum annually hosts over a dozen exhibitions, publishes numerous award-winning catalogues, and is on the cutting edge of conservation research to preserve our collection.

Foundation & Government Relations supports the Whitney by maintaining long-term partners and cultivating new alliances with public and private entities. We depend on commitments from many supporters, including the City and State of New York, the Helena Rubinstein Foundation,  the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, and other extraordinary partners.
