The Whitney Museum Archives document the evolution of the institution from the inception of the Whitney Studio in 1914 to the present. The collection contains exhibition records, photographs, curatorial research notes, artists’ correspondence, audio and video recordings, Trustees’ minutes and papers. The Whitney Museum of American Art reserves the right to restrict access to certain archival materials due to personal privacy rights, confidentiality, or preservation concerns.
