If you play Super Mario Brothers, you may notice that the game looks and plays very differently today than the original game, which came out in 1985. This first version of the game is what Arcangel played as a kid and what he used to make this artwork.
The installation can be arranged with more or fewer images depending on the space where it is shown. Each time the work is exhibited, the curators (and sometimes the artist) decide how many images should be used. The installation here consists of three images and the original Nintendo game system console playing the cartridge of the Super Mario clouds. The low-tech wires that connect the game system, the video screens, and the projectors are not hidden; they sprawl messily across the floor.
