Zackary Drucker and Rhys Ernst: _She Gone Rogue_
2014 Biennial Film & Video Screenings

Zackary Drucker and Rhys Ernst’s collaborative short film She Gone Rogue (2012) explores and questions the process of identity construction as “Darling,” played by Drucker, encounters characters who illuminate moments in the history of transgender women. The film, screened as part of the 2014 Biennial, also stars legendary performers Holly Woodlawn, Vaginal Davis, and Flawless Sabrina.

2014 Biennial Film & Video Screenings

The Whitney Biennial, in collaboration with the Film Society of Lincoln Center, presents a series of screenings featuring the work of Lucien Castaing-Taylor, Véréna Paravel, and Sensory Ethnography Lab. This week’s screenings include a rotating selection of work by filmmakers Diana Allan, Ilisa Barbash, Lucien Castaing-Taylor, Libbie Cohn, Aryo Danusiri, Ernst Karel, Toby Kim Lee, Helen Mirra, Véréna Paravel, Xu Ruotao, J.P. Sniadecki, Stephanie Spray, Katherine Tygielski, Pacho Velez, Pawel Wojtasi, and Huang Xiang.

As part of Zackary Drucker and Rhys Ernst‘s contribution to the Biennial, Flawless Sabrina, an icon of drag performance who features in the artists’ collaborative film, She Gone Rogue, will hold tarot card readings at her apartment.

Access Programs

Whitney verbal description and touch tours provide an opportunity for visitors who are blind or partially sighted and their companions to experience the richness and diversity of twentieth and twenty-first century American art through vivid description and tactile opportunities. Ninety-minute tours are free-of-charge and are offered monthly on Friday mornings before the Museum opens to the general public. Please join us for a tour of the 2014 Biennial.

2014 Biennial Performances

The second issue of Lisa Anne Auerbach’s five-foot-tall American Megazine features photographs and conversations from the artist’s tour of the storefronts used by psychics around Los Angeles. The Megazine will be activated throughout the 2014 Biennial by page turners clothed in shirts, sweaters, or banners made by Auerbach.
