From Langston Hughes to contemporary poets, the spirit of the blues has a long tradition in American poetry and lyrics. In conjunction with Blues for Smoke, this program brings together renowned poets Cornelius Eady, Tracie Morris, Fred Moten, Haryette Mullen, and Patricia Smith for an evening of spoken word, readings, and performance inspired by the blues aesthetic.
