The Whitney is open late—just for members! Celebrate with fellow supporters and enjoy everything the Museum has to offer. In addition to gallery access, the evening includes Whitney teaching fellow-led exhibition talks, members-only dining and shopping, and more.

All members are invited to this event: The invitation is for two individuals per membership household. Members at the Dual level and above are welcome to arrive at 7 pm for priority admission. One-time-use member guest passes may be used. Not open to corporate and reciprocal members.

Book Signing: Mary Heilmann’s The Book of Night
Floor One, Whitney Shop
7–9 pm
Permanent collection artist Mary Heilmann signs copies of her newly published The Book of Night. This collector’s edition comprises a hand-stitched book with screen-printed images of Heilmann’s unique cloth book of the same name, as well as a booklet of archival photographs showing the artist performing with the cloth book at the Whitney in 1970 (published by 303inPrint; edition of 250).

Workshop and Screening: Unravel, A Hand-drawn Collaborative Film
Floor Three, Susan and John Hess Family Theater
7–9:45 pm
Come to the third floor to take part in Unravel, a collaborative handmade 16mm film project, created by artists Maria Anastassiou, Chris Paul Daniels, Jo Byrne, and Kelvin Brown. Drop in and engage with 16mm film by scratching and drawing on celluloid. See your marks animate as the film is run through an analog 16mm projector. It's hands-on filmmaking in its most literal sense!

Cinema Deconstructed: Floor Five

Explore works on view in Dreamlands: Immersive Cinema and Art, 1905–2016 in which artists manipulate the material of film including celluloid, screen, and projection (head to the right once you enter the exhibition). 

Queer Bodies: Floor Six
7:15, 7:45, 8:30, and 9 pm
Explore gender, sexuality, and LGBTQ perspectives in Human Interest: Portraits from the Whitney’s Collection (head right when you exit the elevators or stairs).

My America: Floor Seven
7:15, 7:45, 8:30, and 9 pm
Explore race, ethnicity, immigration, and the complexity of American identity in Human Interest: Portraits from the Whitney’s Collection (meet in front of the elevators).

Drink and Dine
Come to Studio Cafe, on the Museum’s eighth floor, to savor delicious drinks and shareable small plates. All items are available for purchase a la carte; last call in Studio Cafe is 9:30 pm. Still hungry? Untitled, located on the ground floor, will be serving dinner all night. Visit here for reservations; Social Series drink tickets may not be used in Studio Cafe or Untitled. Cash bars serving wine, beer, and a specialty cocktail are also located on the ground floor and in the third-floor Hess Theater. Last call for cash bars is 9:45 pm; Social Series drink tickets may be used at the cash bars.
