Learning Series Members in the Curate Your Own Program
This two-part lecture program taught by art historian Paula Burleigh takes the exhibitions Archibald Motley: Jazz Age Modernist and The Whitney’s Collection as touchstones for a discussion of select themes in American art during the first half of the twentieth century. Lectures will focus on works of art and other visual sources not available in the galleries that illuminate the Whitney’s current exhibitions, while providing context and background information to enrich independent exhibition viewing and exploration.
Active Learning Series members are invited to register for one of four options:
Option 1: Sundays, November 1 and 8, 1–2 pm
Option 2: Thursdays, November 19 and December 3, 5:30–6:30 pm
