Member Preview Day: Christian Marclay: Festival

Artist/composer Christian Marclay is known for his distinctive fusion of image and sound. From 12-6 pm, be among the first to explore the dazzling spectrum of his work, spanning performance, collage, sculpture, large-scale installations, photography, and video.

This event includes admission to two private performances for members:

3 pm: Elliott Sharp

A central figure in the avant-garde for more than 30 years, Elliott Sharp leads Orchestra Carbon, Tectonics, and Terraplane and has pioneered ways of applying fractal geometry, chaos theory, and genetics to musical composition and interaction.

4 pm: Maria Chavez, Alan Licht, and Ulrich Krieger

Born in Peru, avant-turntablist Maria Chavez creates electro-acoustic sound pieces using vinyl and needle.  She will perform with Alan Licht, a New York–based guitarist, writer, and curator, and Ulrich Krieger, who uses “acoustic electronics” approach to playing saxophone and composition.
