Floor Five, Kaufman Gallery

The Whitney presents the world premiere of a new feature length performance film, The Silent Eye, by Amiel Courtin-Wilson featuring Min Tanaka and Cecil Taylor. Shot in Taylor’s home over three days in January 2016, the film is a highly intimate, impressionistic portrait of the unspoken rapport between two masters of their form who have been collaborating for over thirty years. Artist Min Tanaka will join the filmmaker for a discussion following both the 12 and 4 pm screenings.

The Silent Eye, 2016. Directed by Amiel Courtin-Wilson (b. 1979). 70 min.
