Get creative in the Whitney’s Hearst Artspace! This week, artist Mathew Cerletty invites families to create artworks inspired by objects that are important to them but might seem ordinary to everyone else. Cerletty will join families from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, April 2 to work with families and answer questions about his practice.

Mathew Cerletty's paintings often combine personal memories, everyday subjects, and mysterious settings. Whether he's painting dreamlike vistas, isolated objects, or confined interiors, Cerletty creates new meaning by playfully combining the language of traditional painting including elements of landscape and still life. His work is on view in the exhibition Flatlands on Floor One.
