Members are invited to experience the Whitney’s influential exhibitions during the concluding months of the inaugural year in the new building. Enjoy expedited entry before the galleries open to the general public on the first and last weekends of the month, February through April 2016. Be among the first to experience Open Plan: Steve McQueen, part of an experimental five-part exhibition that uses the Museum’s dramatic fifth-floor as a single open gallery, unobstructed by interior walls. For his project, visual artist and filmmaker Steve McQueen will show an expanded version of his work End Credits, which presents documents from the FBI file kept on the legendary African-American performer Paul Robeson. The opening weekend of Open Plan: Steve McQueen coincides with the final days of Laura Poitras: Astro Noise.
