I am a creative young lady born in wonderful New York City. My school counselor introduced the Youth Insights program to me. She’s a witness to my undeniable passion for writing and the arts so she told me about it right away! As soon as I checked out the Whitney’s website, the Youth Insights program caught my eye. I knew that it would be the ideal way for me to meet new people and grow as a writer.
Art means the world to me. It has made me open-minded and bright. Considering that I’m in love with both the oldies and present day music, I have a lot of favorite artists. I like musicians, singers, and songwriters that range from The Beatles to Shakira! I also have an interest in the performing arts. That’s where my passion for writing was born. I remember being a part of my middle school’s theater program and falling in love with the monologues that I performed. I began to write my own monologues as a way of expressing my fears, love, and passion. Writing holds a singular meaning in my life, which is why I continue to write short stories, plays and songs. This is my way of coping with feelings and keeping my sanity! I get inspiration from music, nature, family, friends, and everyday life. But what inspires me the most is my desire to continue to explore, discover, and learn things I never knew about myself. That’s what life is about.
