On these dates, enjoy reduced admission ($19 adults; $14 seniors and students) and see Fast Forward and Human Interest. Two floors are closed as we prepare for the 2017 Biennial.
I am a sixteen-year old aspiring fashion designer and stylist. I was born, raised and still reside in Brooklyn. My mom and dad were born and raised in Guatemala and immigrated to the United States in the early 80s. So yes, I do speak Spanish. However, I understand more than I can speak. My American history teacher brought Youth Insights to my attention. He gave me a link to the application and although I was pretty hesitant to apply, I did so anyway.
To me, art is essential to life. What I mean is that you need art, and you see it everywhere—in buildings, cars, trains, etc. As for my favorite artists, they are all designers. There’s Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, Kate Spade, and J.Crew, to name just a few. My only interest besides HBO is fashion. That’s pretty much what I’ve been into since I was ten years old. Life itself inspires me. Daily struggles and positive vibes inspire me. Day-to-day living inspires me. In the future, I hope to achieve a better creative process and continue to stay inspired.
