I am Anna and I was born and raised in New York City. The city shaped me and made me the person I am today. I have a Slavic-Turkish background, and I am a first generation American. I came to Youth Insights because the Whitney has been my favorite museum for the longest time. The exhibitions and featured artists have always intrigued me, and after hearing about this program I signed up right away. I have been sketching and painting since I could hold a pencil. I have been going to museums my entire life. Art is my way of expressing my views about the world. My favorite artist is Vincent van Gogh, and my favorite photographer is Rineke Dijkstra.
Medicine and art are my two main interests. I also enjoy dance and music. The human form and mind, and the way we look, move, and behave inspire me. I hope to be happy in the future. I hope to look back at my life and see that I put something into the world to make it even a little bit better.
