My name is Daphne and I am a seventeen-year-old Haitian American. In my free time I love to read books and learn about space. I first heard of Youth Insights through my guidance counselor when I asked about internships. I saw this program as an opportunity to broaden my horizons. I haven’t really been exposed to the art world much, and this is a great way for me to see what I’ve been missing. I don’t really have a favorite artist or work of art, but I believe that discovering one would be a lot of fun. Art is a part of life and I would love to learn much more about it. Being in a museum affects the way I see everything around me, even the way I look at a simple building structure or graffiti on the side of a building. Now, I can think about what the artist was thinking while creating a work, and where he or she got the inspiration from.
