2009 Visual Poetry

At the beginning of the spring 2009 semester, each YI Writer was assigned one painting from the exhibition, Georgia O’Keeffe: Abstraction. They were asked to reflect upon and think about this painting over time. After spending a few weeks with the work, the YI Writers wrote poems inspired by their assigned paintings and used its lines, shapes, and colors to orient their words.
