YI teens explored the exhibition Jenny Holzer: PROTECT PROTECT, a fifteen-year retrospective which included many of the artist’s text-based works, including her Truisms. Holzer began writing her Truisms in the late 1970’s—statements such as “Thinking too much can only cause problems” and “Your actions are pointless if noone notices.”  Inspired by these controversial and poignant statements, YI teens designed posters with their own truisms, based on their life experiences.
