2009 Found Sculptures

For this project, artist-in-residence Rashawn Griffin encouraged the teens to investigate what exactly makes something a sculpture. To examine this question, the students explored the neighborhood around the Whitney on a search for objects and places that had sculptural characteristics and took Polaroid photographs of what they discovered.
