StoryCorps Door to Door

In November 2010, Youth Insights collaborated with StoryCorps, a non-profit organization whose mission is to record, preserve, and share the stories of people from all walks of life. Working with YI Leaders, facilitators from the organization spoke about the project and its goal of strengthening the human connection through oral history. During a day-long recording session, YI Leaders had the opportunity to interview each other, their family members, and past artists-in-residence. Hear the Interviews

On October 8, 2010, Youth Insights participants met at the Whitney for an afternoon of glitter, face paint, and other-worldly costumes with help from CHERYL, a Brooklyn-based artist collective known for its video art, museum installations, performances and dance parties. See the Transformations

Fresh Perspectives: Teen Takes on the Biennial

Teens in the Whitney’s Youth Insights Leaders program went behind the scenes and created a series of original short films highlighting their unique perspectives on 2010, the Whitney Biennial.  Produced in partnership with the New York Film Academy. Watch the videos 

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

This series of public programs (organized by teens for teens) invites contemporary artists to participate in open dialogues about their art over snacks like dumplings, cupcakes, and quesadillas. Learn more
