College and university groups may request a tour conducted by Whitney Teaching Fellows, all Ph.D. candidates in art history.
Tours can highlight the Whitney’s permanent collection or focus on one of our special exhibitions. All tours are one hour long.
Private groups may request a tour of the Whitney’s permanent collection or a special exhibition. All private tours are conducted by Whitney Teaching Fellows, Ph.D. candidates in art history, and last one hour. Tours must be scheduled one month to three months in advance.
$28 per adult ($280 minimum)
$20 per person for students and seniors ($200 minimum)
Groups of fewer than ten visitors may reserve a tour and pay the minimum fee. Cost includes the lecturer’s fee and Museum admission. Fees are payable upon arrival by cash, check, money order, or credit card.

University professors wishing to lead and lecture their class must also reserve in advance and will be charged a $25 administrative fee. The instructor receives permission to lecture by making this request on school stationery.
All reservations are required and must be made one to three months in advance. The Museum reserves the right not to allow large groups into the Museum without prior reservations.
Group visits are scheduled during the following times on the half-hour:
Wednesday and Thursday, 11:30 am–4:30 pm
Friday, 1:30–4:30 pm
Saturday and Sunday, 11:30 am–4:30 pm
$15 for adults ($150 minimum)
$10 for students ($100 minimum)
Free for all CUNY and high school students; administrative fees and reservation is required.
